AECP PRESENTS AT GOVERNOR’S CONFERENCE ON HOUSING

On November 19, 2009 AECP provided a presentation entitled “Weatherization and the Green Economy” at the Virginia Governor’s Conference on Housing in Norfolk, VA.

AECP TALKS TO STUDENTS AT BLUE MOUNTAIN SCHOOL

On November 17, 2009 AECP attended a class at the Blue Mountain School in Floyd, VA and spoke to the students about how saving energy can impact global warming.

AECP CONDUCTS 10TH ANNUAL GREEN LIVING AND ENERGY EXPO

On November 6 and 7, 2009 AECP held its 10th annual Green Living and Energy Expo at the Roanoke Civic Center in Roanoke, Virginia. The two-day event featured over 90 exhibits, workshops and presentations and over 200 people attended. A special ceremony was held before the Expo to honor all of the sponsors and exhibitors who had participated in the event for all ten years. Each was awarded an engraved pewter Jefferson cup.

AECP PRESENTS TO FLOYD ROTARY

On October 21, 2009 AECP gave a presentation to the Floyd, VA Rotary Club on “Saving Energy in the Home”.

AECP PRESENTS TO WEST VIRGINIA WEATHERIZATION PROGRAM

On September 14, 2009 AECP provided a workshop to the West Virginia Weatherization Program entitled “Weatherization Production: Tips and Techniques for Improving Efficiency and Production”.

 

AECP SERVES ON CNR 2030 ADVISORY BOARD

AECP has been invited to serve on the advisory board for the CNR 2030, an initiative developed as part of the Creative Communities Leadership Program and sponsored by the City of Roanoke. This initiative will work towards making the Roanoke and New River Valley region of Western Virginia a carbon-neutral region.

AECP EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR RECEIVES IR CERTIFICATION

On May 4 and 5, 2009, AECP Executive Director, Billy Weitzenfeld received an Infrared Camera Energy Auditor training sponsored by AECP member Conservation Strategies and conducted by Monroe Infrared Technology. Billy passed the final day test and received his certification.

AECP GIVES EARTH DAY PRESENTATION

On April 18, 2009 AECP gave a presentation on “The Weatherization Assistance Program” at the Floyd, Virginia Earth Day celebration.

AECP SERVES ON CITY CARBON REDUCTION ADVISORY BOARD

In March, 2009 AECP began serving on the City of Roanoke’s “Green and Clean Committee”. The committee is an advisory board to the City in it’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions in the City by 10%.

AECP PRESENTS AT COVES CONFERENCE

AECP gave a presentation at the Commonwealth of Virginia Energy and Sustainability (COVES) conference at the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Virginia on March 31,2009. The title of the presentation was “Weatherization and the Green Economy”.

On January 12, 2009 AECP gave a presentation on “Saving Energy in the Home” as part of a meeting of the Blacksburg Rotary Club.

AECP DOES ENERGY COMMERCIALS FOR LOCAL TV STATION
