AECP HOLDS 12TH PEER EXCHANGE
AECP held a Peer Exchange at the Hotel Roanoke in Roanoke, VA on April 4 and 5, 2016. The Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) started the April 4 session with updates on funding and the Grant Management Plan. This was followed by a presentation on the HEAT auditing process and an update on Weatherizers Without Borders. The April 5 session was primarily small group activity including an Administrative and Financial breakout session and a Technical Assistance Group meeting.
AECP MEMBER RECEIVES NATIONAL AWARD
Anthony Cox, former AECP Board member and Officer received the prestigious Linda Wigington Leadership Award. This award celebrates visionary leaders doing extraordinary work to strengthen the home performance and weatherization industry. The award showcases individual excellence in leadership as demonstrated by outstanding initiative, impact of work, and inspiration to others. Linda Wigington is the founder of the Affordable Comfort Conference.
Anthony Cox is currently Building Science Manager and Lead Trainer with Community Housing Partners Energy Solutions Training Center.
AECP HOLDS 13TH PEER EXCHANGE
On November 10, 2016 AECP held a one day Peer Exchange at the Community Housing Partners (CHP) Energy Solutions Training Center in Christiansburg, VA. This was a unique Peer Exchange because it was basically focused on the HEAT audit process and any questions, concerns, problems or conversation related to the audit.
AECP COMPILES 40 YEAR WEATHERIZATION HISTORY
Billy Weitzenfeld, AECP Executive Director, using old photos, documents, and a variety of resources put together a power point presentation entailing the 40 year history of the Weatherization Assistance Program. This was to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the program, which started in 1976. The power point was shown to the full weatherization network at the Weatherization Interchange in June at Virginia Beach, VA.
